WIFVNE supports female and underrecognized voices in film through networking, mentorship, and education.
On Thursday January 27th from 6:15 - 8:30pm, Courageous Conversations Towards Racial Justice Milton-Mattapan launches Race Reels with Milton's award winning screenwriter and filmmaker Thato Mwosa to view and discuss her film, Memoir of a Black Girl. This film won the 2021 Best Feature Film at the Roxbury International Film Festival and is a coming-of-age story of a Black high school student confronting the challenges of race, urban education and social/racial tensions that bring impact.
Join early for an introduction; film will start at 6:30. A panel discussion with Q&A will follow at 7:45 with the filmmaker and some of the actors.
This will be a hybrid program, with a maximum of 40 in-person attendees, and unlimited Zoom participants. Registration is required; and you will be required to indicate your preference for virtual or in-person attendance.
Thato Mwosa is an illustrator, screenwriter, playwright, and filmmaker. She is a former Board member of WIFVNE.
