Are you interested in working in film or video production? Do you love film and TV but think the only jobs are behind or in front of the camera? Have you ever been to a networking event and not known what to say to the industry professionals in the room? Then come to Conversations on Careers on April 6th at National Boston!
Starting at 6pm on the 6th, WIFVNE will be hosting an event geared towards you—young professionals and aspiring professionals who are interested in the film and video industry in New England. This event is to assist students and recent graduates to approach networking, job fairs, and outreach to potential creative collaborators and employers.
The night will start with a discussion on the importance of networking for success, along with helpful tips and structure to give you concrete skills. Then a panel of industry experts from companies including GBH Boston, High Output, American Public Television, and Animus Studios will give you helpful insight into what they are looking for in potential employees and collaborators. Whether you are interested in marketing, production, talent, hiring, editing, sound, or any of the other myriad of fields that intersect with TV and Film, you should hear what our panelists have to say.
Finally, the bulk of the evening will put your networking skills into practice. Bring your business cards and burning questions! Our panelists and other potential mentors will be on-hand to help you forge connections and potentially future creative collaborations. Put yourself out there! This will be a supportive environment where you will get feedback not just on your ideas, but how you present them. We want you to leave confident in your networking skills.
WIFVNE thanks Kenny Wood for the amazing graphic and to National Boston for hosting us!
