Join WIFVNE and the producers of the Boston 48 Hour Film Project, Providence 48 Hour Film Project, and Portland Maine 48 Hour Film Project for this special "Meet & Greet" Networking Wednesday. WIFVNE is a proud sponsor of these 48HFPs!
Regardless of your level of on set experience, participating as part of the 48 Hour Film Project is a great way to connect with local cast, crew, musicians, and more as teams rush to complete 4-7 minute movies in, yes, just 48 hours. Films are screened and the winning films from each 48 move on to the international Filmapalooza competition and a chance to screen at the Cannes Film Festival.
Whether you're looking for information, a team to join, or people for your own team, come enjoy a great opportunity to network! (And we'll do our best to answer questions about the Martha's Vineyard 48 Hour Film Project and New Haven 48 Hour Film Project, too.)
This conversation will be moderated by WIFVNE Board Rachel S. Thomas-Medwid, a director, screenwriter, and independent filmmaker whose films and screenplays have won multiple awards worldwide and have provided her with incredible opportunities to learn more about the art of filmmaking. Her first 48Hour Film Project film “Therapy King” was an Audience Choice Award runner up.
The Producers
Andrew Osborne, a freelance writer, teacher, and director, is the current city producer (and a former team leader) for the Boston 48 Hour Film Project.
Mel Rainsberger is the Providence 48HFP city producer and lifelong fan of finding creative energy through friendly competition. With the skills she learned running a team for 10 years, she helps other filmmakers explore their creativity and take their potential to the next level. A Maine native, Rosie Stevens produced the Portland 48hr film project for the first time in 2023, but she participated in her first 48 in 2016 at the age of 17. Now with a masters in Television, Radio, and Film from Syracuse University to Newhouse School, she is excited to enter the film industry.
